A man has been jailed and two others given a suspended sentence following an incident in Gamesley on Christmas Day 2025, in which a man was stabbed in the chest and a BB gun was fired. 

The incident happened at around 4.20pm on Thursday 25th December, following reports that a man had been assaulted in Bradwell Lea. 

Edward Ward, 33, was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison after admitting possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article and affray. 

His stepbrother, William Fisher, 23, of Bradwell Lea, Gamesley, also became involved in the incident. 

The court heard that Fisher's car had been damaged on Christmas Eve, after someone stamped on its windscreen. On Christmas Day, after allegedly spotting people outside his home whom he believed were responsible, 

Ward armed himself with a BB gun and a blade.

Fisher admitted affray and criminal damage and was given a three-year sentence, suspended for 24 months. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work. 

Ward's stepfather, Shane Fisher, 57, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after ramming the victim's car. He was sentenced to 12 months, suspended for 12 months, fined £1,000 and banned from driving for 12 months. 

He was also ordered to complete a mandatory extended driving test and 150 hours of unpaid work.
